Glacier Nation Park and Western Montana

These are some of my favorites from Western Montana and Glacier National Park. We entered Montana from the Southwest side, went through Missoula, the up toward Flathead lake, and then into Glacier. Once we crossed the Montana line, it rained on us for 5 days straight, This made exploring Glacier more of a challenge, but we stuck it out camping for 3 days. After a few days in Glacier we headed south trying to escape the weather. We finally broke out of the freezing rain near Bozemann.

Providing power for the northwest

The rain made for dramatic scenery. Huge glacier carved peaks disappearing into the clouds.

River rocks, they were shockingly colorful

Our trusty adventure dog, in the rain at lower St. Mary lake

The water would build up on the edges of our shelter tarp and then fall off in sheets

An old hotel, near Three Forks. They didn't have any beds for us that night

Fields of wheat, with snow capped peaks looking over them
